I have the unix compact program on an apollo, and a compress program on an IBM PC and SUN. How do I unCOMPRESS files on an apollo? Any sources or apollo binarys out there? Thanks, davel@cup.portal.com

You can get the source from the standard news distribution. Ask your system administrator. Mike

There is a copy of a program called "compress" which was ported to the Apollos from a generic Unix system in the ADUS library. This program both compresses and uncompresses files. I have it running on our Alliant FX/1 (Apollo DSP9000) and our Apollos. You can get a copy of the program via e-mail by sending the message "send compress from apollo" to "netlib@anl-mcs.arpa" (Argonne National Labs online software library). -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter@eddie.mit.edu mit-erl!mit-richter!krowitz@eddie.mit.edu mit-erl!mit-richter!krowitz@mit-eddie.arpa krowitz@mit-mc.arpa (in order of decreasing preference)

compress and lots of other great stuff is available from the ADUS free software library. You need to join ADUS, but that's free. The address is: Apollo Domain Users Society Apollo Computer Inc.
