My CAD/CAM system has a utility which plots drawings on an HPGL plotter. Because of the non-network mentality of the company, you have to either sit at the node connected to the plotter, or CRP to it. That's okay, us sys admin's can handle that. Here's my problem: Interleaf has a wicked good HPGL filter, for loading CAD drawings into documents. Since our plotting package only gives HPGL commands to the SIO line, I can't get an HPGL file out of it. I even tried connecting two SIO lines and trying to receive the data through EMT, but the plotting program queries the plotter, so you have to know what to return!!!! I thought that maybe I could create a device descriptor file that acts as a 'tee' and writes all data into a file. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? Thanks very much, Scott Ferguson ferguson@bknlvms.bitnet
