[comp.sys.apollo] 3rd MSD500 on DSP-90s

jec@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu (03/23/88)

Is there anyway to get more than two MSD500 drives on a
DSP-90 and be able to use them all?

We have 3 DSP90's with 3 MSD500 drives each and 3 DSP500's with
4 MSD500 drives each.

They are mounted as S(0), S1, S2, and S3 with one logical volume each.

What's the problem ?????

Of course. I think it is even in the price list. I usually buy my disks
from a third party though. There are four controller plugs on the controller
and you can daisy chain the data cable down four disks.

You can have up to 4 MSD500s on a DSP90 on one controller. I am
receiving my 3rd drive next week. You may be able to add more if you get
another controller.

I don't believe you can have more than one disk drive controller.

Besides, you can not mount more than 4 drives anyway. The mounting table is
full at four disk drives.

You can put for sure 4 msd500 on the same controller.
You can have up to 10 logical volumes per volume I think and you can
mount up to 5 logical volumes at the same time.
That's it.
