Harald Geist <geist@nixpbe> just sent me mail asking for details about the up coming ADUS conference. In that I haven't seen much of the information that I received via U.S.Mail cross-posted electronically, I thought I would let all of you in on my attempt at responding to Harald: I don't really have a complete set of information about the ADUS Conference on line, but I will type in some of the details, hope I hit the high points, and let others fill in details where they feel the urge. I will also refer you to official sources of information. First of all, the conference will be at the Hyatt Regency - Capitol Hill, in Washington, D.C. from October 2-5, 1988. The conference high points are listed as: breakout sessions for Special Interest Groups, technical forums lead by Apollo Research & Development, discussions on engineering directions, a solution supplier arcade, a demonstration room with a software library, a general meeting, and a book fair There will also be a "Win-A-Workstation" Raffle on Wednesday at 1 pm. Registration is $225.00 US if received, with your registration form, by ADUS before September 30th. On site registration is $275. There will also be Educational Services Seminars on the Friday & Saturday before the Conference, and the Thursday & Friday after the conference. These require separate registration and fees. For more information contact: Andrea Woloski, ADUS Administrator c/o Apollo Computer, Inc. 330 Billerica Road Chelmsford, MA 01824 (508) 256-6600 x-4448 You can also send e-mail to adus!apollo.uucp (or) apollo!adus@eddie.mit.edu. Does anybody know if it will be worth it to get to the conference early Sunday to take in the Software Library and Demonstration Room? What exactly are these? Or should I just try to be there Sunday? -- Kevin Buchs 3900 Northwoods Dr. Arden Hills, MN 55112 (612)490-2548 Zycad Corp. pwcs!zycad!kjb

The demo room usually has the latest Apollo hardware running the latest set of demo programs and games. If you want to play a little before getting swamped by the conference, come a little early. The software library (at least last year) was simply a table where you could buy copies of the latest tapes from the ADUS software collection and a couple of nodes for swapping software that people brought to the conference with them. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter@athena.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
