[comp.sys.apollo] NFS mount point question

jec@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu (09/20/88)

On most of our systems (non-Apollo) we mount all of our other machines
as NFS partitions like so:

	/iuvax
	/iuvax/usr
	/iuvax/local
	/iuvax/source

However, on the Apollos when I try to mount them I run into trouble. I
can mount the iuvax root directory as /iuvax on the Apollos, but I can't
mount the /usr directory as /iuvax/usr. Does anyone know if this is either
fixed in SR10's version of NFS (2.0?) or there is a work-around for NFS 1.0?

Also, does NFS 2.0 fix the remote executable problems (w/SR10?) I know
the fact that it doesn't work under NFS 1.0 has been hashed here lately, but
I'm hoping Apollo got tired of being bashed for it and fixed it.
