Apollo Computer Inc. introduced a series of new mass storage products for its Personal Workstation (tm) family. With these products, Apollo now offers up to 2.8GB of memory capacity. Apollo's new disk storage products include a 697MB disk drive, a 697MB Disk Expansion Module (providing 1.39GB), a 697MB Multiple Disk Expansion Module (providing up to 2.8GB), a SCSI-based 1/4-inch cartridge tape and a SCSI-based 1/2-inch 6250bpi magnetic tape. All of these products are supported by Apollo's new multi-function peripheral controller. Through the use of the industry-standard Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) bus, Apollo now brings the 6250 bpi tape drive to the Personal Workstation family. It provides 150MB of data storage on one reel of tape. The SCSI-based 1/4-inch cartridge tape provides 60MB of storage capacity on one cartridge tape. This eliminates the need for an additional controller, and therefore frees up an extra AT (R) bus slot for customer use. All products will be available 60 days after receipt of order.
