[comp.sys.apollo] Danford Tape Drive

carey@m.cs.uiuc.edu (11/11/88)

I have a Domain 4000 with a Danford TDI-3010 9-track tape drive
interface.

There is a bug I have run into and don't know what to do about.
This is a problem that Danford knows about, because i found it
in their Release Notes under Known Bugs:
"Trying to back up the /dev directory will cause a 'Fault in
user space interrupt handler' error. A shutdown and reboot is
needed to reset the software. This is an Apollo bug
that is fixed in Aegis 9.7.0.3."
Well they are right, this is exactly what happens -- when I do
a full dump it hits the /dev directory and chokes.
However, I am running aegis 9.7.0.3.
So, anyone know what to do? I have called Danford, and am trying
to get a response from them.
