[] We have --- rashly, as it turns out --- bought a Kennedy 9610 tape drive and a Leo 9-track magnetic tape coupler AT-bus interface from Apollo. The idea is to connect the Leo board to a DN4000; it was about one third the price of the alternative Danforth (Danford?) controller. However, there are two problems. With the Leo controller installed, the DN4000 fails its power-up self test with the message APOLLO TOKEN RING 0 DOESN'T EXIST BUT APPEARS IN CONFIGURATION TABLE SELF TEST FAILED ERROR CODE E00D088C The token ring board IS installed; somehow the tape controller is making it invisible. While one can get around this by leaving the node in service mode, that prevents unattended reboots, e.g. after a power failure. Secondly, and more seriously, it turns out that there is no software available to drive the Leo board from an Apollo. Has anyone tried this combination of controller and tapedrive, and written a suitable driver? Would you be prepared to make it available? If so, I would be very grateful if you could let me know, by mail. Please don't send any large files straight away, however: mail across the Pacific is expensive!
