[comp.sys.apollo] obj. oriented filesystem?

I prefer to think of Apollo's file system as a "strongly typed" file
system.  If it were really object oriented, I would expect all objects
in the file system to understand, say, the message "dl" rather than
having to have a "dlt" for directory trees and a "dlf" for (most other
kinds, but not all) files (and in SR9.x being able to create Unix files
containing characters that Aegis had to escape with ":" prefixes, and
that couldn't be "dl"-anything-ed but could sometimes be "rm"ed).

It's just marketing hype to call Apollo's filesystem "o-o" rather than
"strongly typed".
