Just a quick offering. We found the default display manager colors
(colours :-) were less than ideal. After some experimentation we
came up with the color_map shown below.
The primary advantage is that the text selection highlighting color
is now light enough to be able to read the text being highlighted.
Other, more subtle, changes have also been made.
