                    - Monday, March 10, 1986.

Dr. Ching Yuen (Ken) Loh of the National Research Coun-
cil, Ottawa will speak on ``Numerical Techniques for
Free Surface Problems in Viscous Incompressible
Flows''.

ABSTRACT

Two typical free surface problems in viscous incompres-
sible flows are considered. The governing Navier-
Stokes equations are solved numerically together with
the continuity equations for Reynold's number up to the
order of 100, based on coordinate transformations and
implicit Crank-Nicolson scheme as applied to the
Navier-Stokes equation. For the free surface profile,
a similar implicit scheme is used to replace the well
known Lax-Wendroff scheme. Numerical results are
satisfactory.
