I am posting this announcement for Professor C.R. Crawford of York
University.  Please contact him, rather than me, for further
information or to confirm that you will attend the meeting.

                 Numerical Analysis Day 1986.

The fourth annual Numerical Analysis Day will take place at York
University on Monday, April 14, 1986.  It will be a meeting of people
who study and apply numerical analysis.  There will be talks on various
topics and ample opportunity for discussion with the speakers and other
attendees during coffee-breaks and lunch.

DATE:  Monday, April 14, 1986.

PLACE:  Ross Bldg., Rm N203, York University, 4700 Keele St., 
        North York (Toronto), Ontario.

STARTING TIME:  9:30 a.m.

   Three forty-minute talks:

      J. La Framboise, Centre for Research in Experimental Space Science,
         York University, "Modelling the Charge on a Spacecraft".

      N. McFarlane, Atmospheric Environment Service,
         Title to be announced.

      Pavel Sermer, Ontario Hydro, "Numerical Solution of a Heat Transfer 
          Problem for a CANDU Fuel Bundle".

   Four twenty-minute talks:

      Richard Bartels, Computer Science Dept., Univ. of Waterloo,
         "Interpolation with B-splines".

      A. Holubec, Physics Dept., York Univ.,
         "Solving ODEs by analytic continuation".

      T.E. Hull, Computer Science Dept., Univ. of Toronto,
         "Exception Handling in Scientific Computation".

      Joseph Liu, Computer Science Dept., York Univ.,
         "Out-of-core Sparse Matrix Factorization".

LUNCH:  Since we would like to provide lunch, we need an accurate estimate
