I am looking for a good word processor or editor that works on the Apollo
network.
We have about 500 users that access our Apollo network from an IBM PC or
IBM PC compatible. They have been using DPSS mail for the past three years.
None of them are very knowledgeable about Unix.
We are in the process of converting to Unix mail (elm), so that we can
communicate with the other Unix systems in our comapany. We just completed a
trial, where we took 15 people with no knowledge of Unix, we gave them some
cheatsheets and documentation on vi, and elm. The trial lasted about a month
and everything went well except they all hated vi.
I havn't been able to get any version of emacs to work on our network, I get
it to compile, but it doesn't work properly. I really don't think they would
like emacs any better then they do vi. Has anyone got emacs to work on Apollo
(9.7) ???
I am having a copy of "Wordmarc" sent to me for a 30 day trial, has
anyone have Wordmarc working on their system ???
If you have a good (simple) editor or a word processor that works on
Apollo Unix, I would like to hear from you.
Thanks
