A while back I asked the readers whether or not they really wanted mod.singles.
Well, the results are in and the answer is a resounding YES. Final results
had 57 readers in favor of mod.singles and 16 against. I won't bother posting
the individual tallies, but I can make them available to anyone who requests
them.
There is a strong interest out there in making the information on the net
more accessible and readable. Many people seem to feel like I do that moderating
groups with a lot of usage can do so by minimizing the duplication and the
inappropriate postings that these groups seem to get. I don't consider this
a vote for mod.singles or against net.singles, just an indication that the
people out there are willing to give moderated groups a chance to work. I will
do what I can to make sure that it does work, but the final decisions will be
made by the readers. Please keep me informed on how you think things are going,
both positive and negative.
(editors note: mod.singles has been very quiet recently because there are
sites out there that don't seem to be properly forwarding moderated groups
yet. I'm trying to track down these 'black holes' and fix them and I'm not
putting a lot of information into mod.singles until I'm pretty sure that
it's going to get out to the net with some success. sigh)
