We've started the task of porting everything we wrote under AEGIS to SR10 and are running into problems right and left ... Is there a way to force Fortran under SR10 to use REC files rather than UNSTRUC files? We really like being able to use the Fortran INQUIRE statement (or at least the IOS calls) to be able to tell what's in the blasted input file before we try to open it (ie. is the file direct access or sequential, what's the record size, etc -- info which is not stored with UNSTRUCT files). Second, has anyone tried using the V2 demo from the /domain_examples/streams directory under SR10? We've come to rely upon the SR9 version, but when I compiled and installed the SR10 version (and put the SR10 version of the server on our Alliant host) I no longer have access to my files ... I can list the directory on the remote machine, but not edit or write to the files. An "ls -lga" under SR9 shows the owner to be "<none>" and the group to be "<none>". With the new SR10 version, "ls -lga" returns group and user of "-1", and I can't access the files. Does anyone have V2 running under SR10, or am I the first? -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter@athena.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
