Now that I've been successful trying enable logins on sr10.1,
the next step is to enable uucp communication, specifically,
dialing out from this node over the tty01/sio1 line.
Apollo documentation on how to enable and startup uucp on sr10
is very flimsy. All there is in the "Managing BSD System Software"
is a description of the uucp files and directories.
What seems to be stopping me is the casual note on page 7-6:
"A port monitored by getty cannot be used to dial out
on unless getty is suspended first. This can be done
with a script."
As expected, the script is neither described nor provided on the
system.
Before I waste any more time on this garbage, does anyone have
some kind advice on how to get uucp (dialout only for now) to work
while getty is also running on the one-and-only serial port on
a DN3000 running 10.1 (BSD)?? I've got the Devices and Systems
files set properly (I think,.. who knows?)
