The trick to getting C-KERMIT 4E(070) to work on a DN3000 running sr10.1 is to change the makefile line for BSD compilation by adding the option -Uaegis to the cc command line. The source code for C-KERMIT has all the conditional stuff in it for apollo/aegis (sio lines etc) which you dont want on 10.1 BSD environment. I've finally been able to get KERMIT running properly on my DN3000, almost. The remote commands dont work, in either direction (Apollo calling other host, or other host calling apollo) but I can live without that. Why does this have to be some complicated? COmputers will never take over the world. Humans will make sure that computers wont be able to talk to each other! haruumph! -- ...Richard Friedman rchrd@well.uucp (Pacific-Sierra Research/Berkeley, CA.) also: {lll-crg,pacbell,hplabs}!well!rchrd
