We are in the process of taking four or five separate standalone demonstrations and merging them together into a single simulation which will run on a network of Apollo workstations. After seeing some NCS demo's, it seemed that NCS might provide the backbone of the glue to merge the processes together. Several of the processes have a menu's and displays that were programmed in Dialog. We found that the addition of CPS (to allow concrrent programming) to a process that used DIALOG to talk to the screen did not work. Also tasks that were set up as servers could not use dialog to receive additional information from the mouse/keyboard since the process only ran for given periods of time while it was called. The questions I have are: 1) can Dialog be used in processes that also use CPS 2) can Dialog be used in a server process called by NCS? code fragments/manual references appreciated.
