[comp.sys.apollo] Placing a window on another node's monitor

sarathy@gpu.utcs.utoronto.ca (Rajiv Sarathy) (06/08/89)

I'm new to the world of Apollo, and have a pretty stright-forward question:

How do I place a text window on a workstation connected to mine by
either token-ring or ethernet (the network probably doesn't matter) ?

I think I know how to start a process on a remote node, but which manual(s)
should I dig through to find out how to start a window? It's probably the
same manual which would show me how to do it on my own workstation, but I
can't find that one either.

BTW, I need to do this from Aegis (sp?) shell script. If impossible, I could
at least write code in Pascal, C, or Fortran, and call it from the script.

References would be great, and an example would be fantastic!

(I'm working for a large corp. this summer which has 20 to 40
Apollo workstations. Most are running SR9.7, and will all be converted to
10.1 soon)

Thanks in advance.
