[comp.sys.apollo] /usr/ucb/mail problems

wescott@LNIC1.HPRC.UH.EDU (Andrew M. Wescott) (08/10/89)

Well I guess this is my week to solve nagging little problems, so
bear with me...

We have (3) dn3500s and (1) dn10000 that are all on ethernet, and
all are running sendmail. /usr/ucb/mail with our current configuration
has worked fine for many months.

Well now I have a dn3500 that is giving me fits. Whenever you send
mail on this particular node whether it is by redirecting a file with <,
reading in a file with ~r, or just typing in the message as you go,
ONLY the header is sent --- not the message! I've really got a feeling
of deja vu with this, but I can't remember what I did last time.

Here are some other symptoms: 1.) This node is our spool node, and
I've been getting a lot of blank messages with no headers lately that
give me a Segmentation fault when I read them. 2.) I can't seem
to get the node to pass ether.dex with the dn10000 as the partner
(the other dn3500s are too far away). When I do a nodestat -l, no
particular statistics jump out at me as problems.

Help!
