We are looking into ASIC development systems. Since there seems
to be a high level of expertise on this conference, I would
appreciate your inputs/suggestions. The system should be able to
1) Develop ASICs from PLDs thru Custom (gate arrays now)
2) Support at least two workstations which could
share data/processing over some network.
3) Support 1.2 u technology.
4) Packages with up to 50K gates and 250 I/O pins.
5) Routing would NOT be done by us.
Systems we are currently considering are: VALID, Mentor, Viewlogic.
Our consultant is recommending Mentor as the workstation and
LSI Logic or VLSI as the gate array source. Although this combination would
certainly fit our objective, it is BIG BUCKS! Please send mail here
