I have been trying to send files to a quarter inch cartarige tape using tar cvf /dev/rct0 filename. The results I get are a message on the screen which signifies the file name and its block size and nothing has been transfered to the tape. If I do a ls -las (list and show attributes), the rct0 file has all my data in it whats going on??? I am running a DN3500, BSD 4.2 -- Craig Doebler, EDS UUCP: ...!uunet!edsews!edstip!craig 1400 N.
