[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p rlogin does not have any reasonable flowcontrol

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

We have a DSP10020 server to which we login via rlogin from remote
(non-apollo) BSD4.3 hosts. The terminal flow control quality is almost
nonexisting and absolutely unacceptable.
Decent BSD4.3 implementations can terminate output to the terminal
almost instantaneously upon receipt of the interrupt character, even
if such output was suspended witt XOFF.
In SR10 you have to endure many, many pages and pages of output
before you see any reaction. It is as bad as telnet.
Either it works with extremely large socket buffers, or it cannot
handle urgent OOB data.
