[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p symbolic links drawbacks

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

The symbolic links in bsd are the traditional aegis links,
not the old 'slink' type of files. I find this choice unfortunate.
When I make a time-sorted directory listing with 'ls -lt', the
time reported for the symbolic links is the time of the last
directory modification. This is not what I want. What I want to see,
is the time the link was made, just as in other bsd implementations.
Furthermore, I cannot chown/chgrp such symbolic link.
