[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p residence of system files

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

Since there are now special directories `node_data/system_logs and
`node_data/systmp to store various log files resp. system data files,
it is surprising that some files still reside in `node_data itself
or in subdirectories like `node_data/tmp. Examples are:
	`node_data/tmp/llbdbase.dat
	`node_data/ipc_data
	`node_data/glb.*
Another strange place is for the file
	`node_data/system_logs/nfs_data
I think all these files should go into `node_data/systmp.
At least /tmp should be left alone for user files only, and should
not have any apollo-specific files.

Unfortunately, some names are still required to exist in `node_data,
although the actual files reside in `node_data/systmp. The symbolic
links in the open directory `node_data can be removed by the world,
since `node_data has to be open to the world.
