[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p ls -l command makes rgy unavailable

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

If you do an 'ls -l' on a directory containing some big files,
it not only never finishes (see one of my previous postings),
but also stalls the rgy daemon and stops it servicing requests.
This makes effectively the whole machine inoperational.
And not only your machine, also a remote (non-apollo) machine
that has your filesystems mounted via nfs suffers terribly if
the rgy daemon does not work when it is engaged in nfs transfers.

This is absolutely unacceptable.
