[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p lists incorrect uid/gid via nfs

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

If one has a remote (non-apollo) filesystem mounted via nfs, and you
do an 'ls -lg' for files on this remote filesystem that have a uid or
gid which is not defined in the SR10 registry, you do not see the
usual '-1', but instead you see one of the defined SR10 user/group
names, apparently randomly chosen. If you use the sys5 ls option '-n'
you see the wrong uid/gid number itself that is inappropriately used.
This is terrible.
