/etc/portmap will crash with an odd address error if the remote host that runs the nameserver, goes out of service. (See previous posting). This is bad, since mountd and nfsd, which are still running, become inoperational. If the remote host comes up again, it wants to mount the apollo disks via nfs, but will fail to do so. You have to kill mountd and nfsd first, then restart portmap, mountd, and nfsd again.
