[comp.sys.apollo] SR10.1.p ruptime does not display load averages

e07@nikhefh.nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) (12/18/89)

The ruptime command does not display load averages, although such
information from remote (non-apollo) machines is present in the
appropriate files in the /usr/spool/rwho directory.
The SR9.7 version of ruptime was ok in this respect.

I reported this bug to Apollo via an APR. Twice. Each time, the
response came back "Apollos don't generate load statistics". I believe
my APRs explicitly stated that the problem was with Apollo's ruptime
not reporting other vendors' machines load stats, not with the lack
of such stats from Apollos.

My call to the APR administrator (the replies you get from Apollo in the
mail say to call the APR administrator if there are concerns with the
APR) got me "Oh yes. I see what you mean. I'll make sure it gets
re-interpreted". A couple of weeks later, the reply came in the mail
saying "Apollos dont generate load stats".

Draw your own conclusions.

For what it's worth, the sr10.2.p xload command seems to work, which
probably means that the load-average bug got some attention...
