Question on prf -read According to the man pages on prf , one should be able to do a prf -read and look at the files in the print queue. Is my assumption correct. When I do a prf -read I get the following error.... ?(prf) problem reading print queue specified printer does not exist (US/print utility) For this example, my printer queue name is ml and I have tried several approaches such as prf -pr ml -read etc and still get the same error. My print que is on a 9.7 node. About 1/2 of my nodes are on 9.7 and the other half on 10.1 . Thanks in advance for any comments etc. Bob Shaw bshaw@hcvdl.vdl.ti.com

prf -read only works on machines running SR10.x for printers that are being controlled by the new SR10 printing software (ie. for print servers based on /sys/hardcopy/prsvr, not for print servers based on the old Sr9 /com/prsvr). The correct command format is: "prf -read <SR10_printer_name> ". -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
