Well, finally, more than a month after calling "instant" apollo, I have gotten my tape of 10.7p fortran. The problem is that it comes with a bright pink warning notice predicting all sorts of dire consequences if I use the old (something.00) installation manual. It says emphatically to read " (something).02 manual that is shipped with the 10.2 release." The problem is that I don't have this manual, as I haven't gotten 10.2p yet, and am unlikely to order it until a working NFS is ready for shipping (and in fact in my hands). I suppose, if this manual is available at all I could order it, but I would be surprised if I had it in my hands in under a month, given the track record. So... Can somebody tell me briefly what is involved in the installation? Can I just use the install/tools minst version that came with 10.1? Do I still have to use the renaming kludge (renaming tools to tools.ok to prevent reading in a bad version of tools from tape), or is this taken care of? I especially want to be careful about minst not installing the wrong libraries, as the warning flyer says that if this happens my machine won't even boot! Help would be much appreciated.
