[comp.sys.apollo] HP IIp Printer and a DN3500

ajk@mace.cc.purdue.edu (Jeff Boerio) (01/05/90)

I have a DN3500, and a newly received HP IIp laser printer. This is the
first printer that's been connected to my (stand-alone) computer.

The computer doesn't seem to recognize the printer. The only thing that
I've been able to get out of the printer is the standard configuration
sheet from the computer. I can't send anything to the printer. I get an
error something like: can't find default destination, or something like
that.

When I got the default sheet printed out, it said the printer's name was
lj22282, but lpadmin, lpstat, enable, and everything else don't recognize
that name.

Can anyone offer help? Thanks in advance.

     - Jeff

Well .... you can put a big never-mind on my previous article. I have
solved the problem, and everything works as it should.

Thanks anyway.
