[comp.sys.apollo] MH and SR10.2

awhitton@bcara2.bnr.ca (Alan Whitton @ BNR) (01/04/90)

Hello:

Well I have been trying out SR10.2 and have found an interesting problem
with the /usr/new/mh stuff supplied. Under SR10.1 I was able to COMP
mail messages quite easily, but now under SR10.2 when my COMP prompts
me with

What Now?

and I say SEND it replies after a long pause

send: message not delivered to anyone

and if I do a WHOM it gives me no response.

This is quite worrying as it definately did work under SR10.1 and XMH
under SR10.2 does allow me to send messages. Anyone out there know
anything about this. I phoned HP (it's not Apollo on the hot line
anymore!!) and they told me anything under /usr/new is NOT SUPPORTED,
but they were kind enough to say they would look into this.

HELP!

Be Seeing You,
Alan

Alan mentioned he is having difficulty with MH as provided with 10.2 relating
to the send & whom commands to whatnow via comp (see his article for more).

I've been using 10.2 for a week or so now and haven't noticed this problem.
I did however encounter the previously mentioned problem with the default
editor path (fixed by adding 'Editor' spec to .mh_profile). You may want to
try using some switches with your send command like:
	send -nopush -verbose -watch
to get a little more info about the send attempt.
