[comp.sys.apollo] DN2500/DN3X00 monitors

reb@quintro.uucp (Roger E. Benz) (01/12/90)

We are currently considering ordering some DN2500's to replace some old
DN3000's and were wondering if the 19" mono display from the DN3000 can be
swapped with the 15" mono display on the DN2500.

We are also interested in low cost drives for the DN2500's.

No the DN3X00 19" mono display can not be used on a DN2500. The DN2500
uses a composite video signal to the monitor and all other Apollo
mono machines (that I know of) use monitors that need seperate sync &
video signals. Thus the DN2500/monitor is incompatable with any other
Apollo monitors. It may be possible to use a DN2500 with a monitor from
some 3rd party vendor like the Radius 2-page display for a Macintosh
but this is pure conjecture. IE I don't know if this will work, it's just
a guess.

For low cost disk drives for a DN2500 check out MDL corp:

The last flyer that I saw from Michael quoted ~$1700 for a 200 Mbyte
internal drive.
