Hi, I saw some times ago somebody asking for info about SCSI disks on Apollo. I didn't see any follow-up. I'm interested on that and wondering whether SCSI disk can only be plugged on dn2500 or if they can laso be used on dn3500/4500 with the WD7000 controller. Of course we are not interested in writing our own driver, we'd like to use DomainOS drivers directly. Is that possible ? otherwise, is there any PD SCSI disk driver available ? This is not at all clear. We are running 10.2 and the release notes mention changes to invol to support SCSI disks, unfortunately without specifying to which machines/controllers these apply, nor any other detail. Invol and Salvol man pages contain no reference to SCSI. Thanks in advance, Achille Petrilli Cray & PWS Operations

I'm just guessing about this but I'll bet that they can or will be soon. This would increase the market for the SCSI based disks and make it easier to sell them. I know that the DN2500 uses controller numbers like 5 & 6 for its SCSI disks. On a Dn3500 with the WD controller If you try to use unit numbers like these, you'll get: 1) Under sr10.1 $ mtvol w5:0 1 /garp ?(mtvol) The controller number specification is incorrect; legal values are '0' through '3'. Help is available. 2) Under sr10.2 $ mtvol w5:0 1 /garp ?(mtvol) Unable to mount volume - controller not found (OS/I/O manager) So it looks like either it'll already work under sr10.2 or the're planning for it.
