[comp.sys.apollo] rlogin problems onto DN4500 under SR10.2 from Suns

bala@synopsys.com (Bala Vasireddi) (01/18/90)

Hi,

It's me again. Thanks to Marc Majka (majka@cs.ubc.ca) my NFS problem on
DN10000 was solved.

The fix was, making /etc/mtab a link to `node_data/etc/mnttab. Thanks a lot for
such a quick turnaround.

Now I have a new problem.

NEW PROBLEM:
-----------

We have a DN4500 running SR10.2. (recently upgraded). As usual we have all our
Sun filesystems mounted via NFS onto this machine.

Our Sun users were able to login into this machine and were able to get their
work done, until recently.

Just recently, within the past week or so, most of our users could not even
rlogin to the system. Those users who could rlogin could not do anything at all.
Just typing anything to the system would hang the login session.

Note that these problems exist only in the case of people remote logged over the
network. There are NO problems for same users, when they walk over to the
console they can login and they do not have any problems.

Why is this happening? Any pointers?

Thanks.
