[comp.sys.apollo] DN10000 memory

I would like to add another processor to my DN10000, I like it so much
I can get money for the cost of the processor, but the difficulty
is memory.  I have 16MB now, and am told that to really use the
second processor, I need another 16 MB.
    The problem -- according to my fact sheet, the DISCOUNTED price
of 16 meg of Apollo memory for the 10000 is about $14000!  This at
a time when Clearpoint memory for Suns is running about $3000 for that
amount of memory.
    So:  (1) Why is the 10000 memory so expensive?  Is it something
special?  SRAM maybe?
           (2)  Is there a third party source for 10000 memory?
