I'm having an NFS problem. I have several differn't machines here including Apollo's , Suns and a Convex. I mount Apollo nodes on both the Convex and Suns and the also the other machines on the Apollo. Problem: With Apollo nodes mounted on the Convex , the mount goes fine but when trying to look at the mounted dirs, I get the following error: NFS getattr failed for server node_19de6: RPC: Authentication error. /tmp/apollo_19de6 not found. I can do a showmount -e and it shows that everything is exported ok. However, if I'm logged in with ROOT privlages , I do not get the above errors. Also, this same test from my Suns are fine. We are working with both Convex and Apollo on this but have yet to solve this mystery. Another interesting clue: I can do an initial Apollo mount on the Convex and then do an ls /tmp (all of my mount points are /tmp/apollo_xxxxx) and everything is fine. I can do this as often as I like and every- thing is fine UNTIL I do an ls /tmp/apollo_xxxxx and from that point on, I get the above mentioned error. ANY, repeat, ANY help/comments would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance ... Bob Shaw Texas Instruments Dallas bshaw@vlsic2.csc.ti.com
