What prompted you to get the June patch tape? Do you routinely get patch
tapes in case some bug is fix? Usually, I spend time on a problem to the
point of not being able to solve it, then call Apollo. It would be nice
if I knew something was not *my* problem (rare, it usually is) but a bug
in the software. That way I don't waste my time. Without knowing what
bugs and fixes exist, we're waiting for a problem to happen when we can
prevent it if we knew. We've been through this time and time again.
As far as I know, Apollo still does not routinely announce bugs/fixes.
That is the problem.

Now I'm all confused. I posted recently that I have the April patch tape
release notes if people wanted them. However, Willem Withagen from the
Netherlands says over there it is called the May patch tape. The tape is
numbered 9005 which to me would indicate 5/90 or May of '90. To make things
more confusing I asked Apollo for the May patch tape and got one labeled 9006.
The release notes for the 9005 tape contain the following lines.

Copyright Hewlett-Packard Company 1990. All Rights Reserved. Reproduc-
tion, adaptation, or translation without prior written permission is
prohibited, except as allowed under the copyright laws. Printed in
     USA.

     First Printing: April 1990

The release notes for the 9006 tape contain the following lines.

     Copyright Hewlett-Packard Co. 1990.

     First Printing: May 1990

Is the April tape labeled the May tape and the May tape the June tape or do I
need another can of Diet Coke to wake me up. Inquiring minds want to know.

BTW. I have gotten quite a few requests for the 9005 patch tape release notes
and I am considering just posting the 9006 release notes (it contains the same
stuff in 9005 and more). The file without print formatting is about 83K long
and I would do it in two postings. I need responses in terms of legalities,
size problems, and yah or nah votes on me posting this. After noticing these
lines in the release notes I think the copyright might stop me. Although if
someone from HP/Apollo wants to say OK I'd be glad to do it if everyone wants
it. Why are the release notes copyrighted anyway? Again IMWTK (see above).

I will go ahead and give you the table of contents for the 9006 tape.
