We have a DN10000 and a 3550 running 10.2 hooked up to a campus-wide ethernet. Our problem is that we cannot make the systems secure. Once we make directories inside /sys/node_data secure then command such as su stop working. Our local suppliers have suggested that we attend their training courses. What we would like to know is should we go these courses courses? Is it possible to make DOMAIN/OS secure? Or would we be wasting our money? We would love to make the machines available to undergraduates for course work but we feel this would not really be practical with the current file protections. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Gerry O'Brien, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2, Ireland gerry@cs.tcd.ie
