Has anyone tried using non-Apollo memories in the new DN2500? 1MBx9 simms seem to go for about $120 each (retail price!) for 8ns memory, less if you can use 100 ns or 120ns chips. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)

I want to purchase more memory for our DN2500. It currently uses 120ns SIMM memory. Will purchasing 100ns SIMM memory cause any problems? Any improvement? Thanks, Lynda.

No, our DN2500's were received with 100ns SIMMS, and we've installed both 80ns and 70ns SIMMS into the machines in addition to the 100ns SIMMS that they came with. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
