We have a network with Vaxen, Suns, and Apollos with the Apollo token-ring bridged over to the main Ethernet. The folks on the Apollos run particular applications on one of the Vaxen (running Ultrix). The Question: What is a good method for an Apollo user to access the Vaxen over the net? Right now, they use telnet running under Apollo's vt100 emulation tool. There is a major problem with this - the vt100 emulator does a poor job, getting confused frequently. Does anyone have one of the following: 1. A termcap entry that works with the Apollo vt100 tool. 2. A way to use a regular Apollo window (termcap, advice, anything). 3. A public domain terminal emulator (vt100 preferred, but not required). 4. Some commercial software package that addresses this problem. Can you plug a standard terminal into a serial port on a DN3000 class machine, login to the Apollo, then telnet? Any other suggestions? Any advice will be appreciated. The Apollo systems are now running Sys10 (I'm not sure which sub-release). Please reply via email. Dale Call dcall@amadeus.wr.tek.com
