[comp.sys.apollo] xman at 10.2 does not work!

mike@tuvie (Inst.f.Techn.Informatik) (07/18/90)

I just wanted to use xman in the sr10.2 release of X11R3. With
disastrous results; xman complained about 'too many entries in
/usr/man/cat3 - recompile with a larger MAXENTRY value'. This
is a virgin DomainOS sr10.2, no additional man pages. True enough,
/usr/man/cat3 contains 990 man pages, BUT HASN'T ANYBODY @HP/Apollo
*EVER* tested this program? How am I supposed to get the sources?
(This is more of a rethorical question - please DO NOT send me the source-
a friend of mine has them) Lots of people will not be able to get
the sources and will be been frustrated by HP/Apollo again.

				bye,
					mike
BTW, /usr/lib/makewhatis still does not work - THOUGH this bug was first
mentioned in comp.sys.apollo ages ago!

I opened a call with Apollo in February about the problem and all they told
me to do was get the source and recompile it. Thanks a lot, Apollo.

Now it is July and they have still ignored such an easy problem to fix. I
just don't get it.
