My HP sales rep was told that NFS comes shipped/bundled with the SR10.x OS. Your HP sales rep is misinformed, as unfortunately seems to be a common occurence. NFS is a separate product; it certainly does not come with SR10.2. - Harald Hanche-Olsen <hanche@imf.unit.no> Division of Mathematical Sciences The Norwegian Institute of Technology N-7034 Trondheim NORWAY

-------------------------Original Message---------------------- My HP sales rep was told that NFS comes shipped/bundled with the SR10.x OS. He (and I) have been waiting for confirmation on this for a week. Can anyone confirm or dispute this? This is a product we could put into use right away. ---------------------------End Original Message--------------------- NFS sure didn't come with my SR10.1p. Not only do you have to pay extra (about $99, which is OK), you have to pay a monthly fee if you want updates and response center support (about $50, which is not so OK). The NFS I have was easy to install and works flawlessly on my network, which has all sorts of stuff on it. Unfortunatelyh, this release of NFS does not work with 10.2p, and I have not heard any word as to when the update will be available. I think Apollo should have made NFS a much higher priority, as most of us DN10000 users cannot afford much disk space in the form of the high performance winchesters you get for the 10000, and hence rely on nfs mounted scsi disks (at about $2200 per 700mb) out there on the network. :
