I got twm from uunet, compiled it OK. When I run it, windows get redrawn nicely (with buttons and titlebar), but several actions bomb twm with segv's, eg: mouse 1 on icon button. I'm running with xdm from /etc/rc, and turned off the process sitting on /dev/console specified in /etc/ttys -- that got the dm to stop fighting with xdm. Any suggestions? Thanks. Please mail to chris@asylum.gsfc.nasa.gov as I'm reading on a borrowed news-thang.

If the DM was fighting with TWm, it sounds like you need to hand root ownership (control of the display) over to X using the xownroot command. At that point you need to disable the dm using the dm command wmgr -off. Now X has control of the display, and the DM has given up control. -- Dave Clark Mentor Graphics Corporation (503) 626-1431 dclark@mentor.com (Std.Disclaimer) ...{sequent, tessi, attunix, apollo, uunet}!mntgfx!dclark
