I apologise for the short notice; I had erroneously assumed that seminars were generally announced by the seminar hosts. The only announcement I have seen of this sort-of-seminar is in the paper minutes of the 7 Dec 1987 meeting of the Supercomputer Users' Group at the U. of Toronto: "8. Date of the Next Meeting The next meeting will be held on Friday, 8 January 1988, at 2 p.m. in the Board Room, Simcoe Hall. Through the auspices of the Department of Statistics, Dr. Wilson from AT&T Bell Labs will speak about his experience with UNICOS on their Cray." Norman does not have a prepared speech, but he is willing to talk informally about his (and I believe Dennis Ritchie's) experiences with Unicos (Cray's Unix) on Bell Labs's Cray XMP/24 (two processors, 4 megawords of main memory). I think Norman's experiences will also be of interest to people who don't use COS (Cray's original operating system) and aren't currently members of the Supercomputer Users' Group. -- "Dr. Geoff Collyer" utzoo!utstat!geoff, utstat.toronto.{edu,cdn}!geoff
