With a planned relocation in our near future, we're taking the opportunity to re-think our networking scheme. The network in question currently has 26 nodes on ATR, but will be expanding soon to approximately 50. As our new home is pre-wired with IBM Type-1 wire, we're faced with the choice of Hatrick cables to connect our existing ring boards to the Type-1 wire, or converting to Ethernet. Both methods come with their own set of pro's and con's, which are being evaluated even as you read this. The one missing bit of information is "real world" experience with either scheme in a 50-node network. Can anyone out there provide some "food for thought", particularly in the area of performance? If interest warrants, email replies will be summarized and posted, although your response will probably be of interest to many and should, therefore, be posted. Thanks for your time. Chuck Fuller
