I've made a new version of the shared x11r4 client library available for ftp. I found out why it wouldn't work with twm and fixed it. Client startup is faster now, so even if you don't use twm, you may want to get this new improved version. The /bin/ld man page doesn't quite tell the whole story. '-a' doesn't always do what it says. The key was to use '-A nosys' also. If you make shared libraries or type managers, you may need this. Also useful is '-A allexp', but only for type managers. I'd still like to find a simple explanation somewhere of what each of these flags is good for. x11r4lib is available for anonymous ftp from dabo.ifs.umich.edu, in the file x11r4.tar.Z.
