[comp.sys.apollo] Mathematica and SR10.3

hanche@imf.unit.no (Harald Hanche-Olsen) (09/13/90)

Just a quick note for any folks out there who run Mathematica on
Apollos: You will probably discover that Mathematica appears to be
broken after you have installed SR10.3 (soon to appear officially).
What happens is that Mathematica's output disappears into the bit
bucket.

No reason to panic; just save this note for that day. When you have
installed SR10.3, delete your mathexe and run the math.install script.
This will run the mathraw program and dump a new mathexe for you, and
all will be well! That is, almost all. If, for some perverse reason,
you have to keep some of your nodes at SR10.2, the new mathexe will
fail on the SR10.2 nodes. So you should have kept the old version to
be used on those machines.

How do I know? We have the latest beta SR10.3 running. Rumours have
it that the official release is expected near the end of the month...

So long,
