[comp.sys.apollo] Multiple network numbers on a LAN - is it legal ?

michael@swift.cs.tcd.ie (10/09/90)

On the campus here at Trinity College, we have two clusters of
Apollo workstations on our ethernet LAN. Each cluster belongs
to a different Department and has to be managed totally
independently with their own registry.

One way of doing this appears to be to assign a network number
to each network with netsvc.

It has been suggested that having two different network numbers
on the same LAN is not a configuration that is supported by HP.

My question is: Is such a configuration supported by HP and are
other people doing this ?
